Everything you always wanted to know about Kerala Theyyams is here ! Wondetful collection . Not just these , but exhibits related to Folklore of other states too . The Dokra metal figurines are awesome . All sign-boards are very helpful . The Museum also honours the scholars who have researched and written about Kerala folk culture by exhibiting their photos . The museum is in one wing of the Chirakkal palace .

A must visit place in Kannur to know more about Folklore Art and Cultural diversity of Kannur. You can travel through traditional contributions of old generation with talent and knowledge. A well maintained museum and gallery here.

Kerala folklore academy is a museum present in chirakkal kannur district you can find a variety of old age things and items inside there at the entrance you can find some theyyam sculptures and when you enter inside nothing variety u can find some ancient things but nothing much they will charge 30 rs per head i don't think it's worth for 30 per head because there is nothing variety to see in the inside of its 10 rs per head it's ok but the price to enter is too much high ..... For that u can visit payyambalam or somewhere else

Folk Lore academy located in chirakkal Kannur. a large man made pond is in front of academy. Photo graphy allowed. Lot of information regarding local folks especially Theyyam is there. Entry fees required.
